Hudson Valley Wireless is an established 12-year old Telecommunications / Infrastructure company that is expanding and looking to hire an Entry to Mid-Level Service / Installation technicians.


We currently support over 2,500 sq miles of network throughout the Capital Region delivering Broadband Internet Access to Rural Communities. 


Technicians will primarily install residential and commercial fixed wireless solutions as an alternative to the major Cable and Telephone companies Internet product.


We are looking for motivated individuals interested in working with technology and people. The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, troubleshooting and maintaining site infrastructure.


Hudson Valley Wireless was awarded a large capital grant to expand Broadband Internet Access throughout the Capital Region.

Hudson Valley Wireless (HVW) was founded as an Internet Service Provider to provide Broadband Internet Access to Rural Communities.  We also provide backup Internet Access and Transport to Enterprise, Public Safety and Mission Critical Applications.

This position has the following key responsibilities:

  • Regularly climb ladders from heights ranging from 10 feet to approximately 40 feet
  • Mount antennas / reflector dish on roof; running cables on commercial and residential buildings in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Configuration of Customer LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi networks
  • Assisting customers with initial PC configurations, email account setup, device setup
  • Provide end user training and access to our subscriber portal
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and complete required paperwork
  • Cleaning up after customer installation; removing boxes, pieces of cable, sheetrock dust, etc.
  • Assist in other areas such as cleaning/organizing materials and storage
  • Maintain inventory of necessary materials and tools for company vehicles.
  • Recognize, practice, and ensure safety rules and procedures.
  • Keep company vehicle in clean, professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned




The Wireless Installer / Technician helps to install & maintain fixed wireless equipment at the customer premise.  Additional responsibilities may include help desk support and troubleshooting / maintenance of related network infrastructure.

  • Must be able to work some overtime as needed and/or without advance notice
  • Must be able to be on call to service equipment as necessary and often without advanced notice
  • Must be able to lift and carry over 50lbs and meet the 300lb weight restriction on ladders to comply with OSHA standards
  • Predominately outdoor weather conditions all year
  • Represents Company in a Professional Manner


Key qualifications required to fill this position are:

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Must be Self-Motivated with a “Get it Done” attitude
  • Individual must be professional and possess the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction
  • Experience working at heights
  • Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be familiar with typical building construction and pathways
  • Possess basic computer skills for installation and troubleshooting of customer LAN and WAN connections
  • Must have experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Familiar with electronics, digital radio technology, and cellular systems
  • Ability to use measuring and diagnostic tools to test, adjust, and repair electronic equipment
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies and perform additional duties as needed
